Hora & Little Venice

The postcard-worthy Hora –which is the island’s capital- has a rich history that goes back through centuries, and a stunning architectural style with dazzling white boxy houses and flowering backyards. Little Venice, along with the nearby windmills, are probably the most photographed attractions in Hora. Little Venice is a small neighborhood, where old built-on-the-rocks houses with colorful façades bravely resist the sweet, yet powerful torment of the sea and forceful winds. The church of Virgin Mary Paraportiani and the Cathedral of Agios Stefanos are two of the most scenic attractions, with probably hundreds of pictures taken daily in their snowy white courtyards with the cloudless skies as a backdrop.
